Writing Your Introduction

Name, age, job, hobby.

Examples

  • Hi, I'm Sara. I'm 20 and I like music.

Key rules

  • An introduction gives your name, age, job or study, and one or two interests
  • Keep it short and in the present simple
  • Use "I'm" for "I am" in informal writing

Common mistakes

  • Im Sara → I'm Sara
  • I am 20 years and I like music → I am 20 years old and I like music

Use cases

  • Introducing yourself in a language exchange
  • Writing a profile for a class or club
  • Filling in a short bio for a website
💡 Tip: For a formal introduction, use your full name and your role instead of a nickname.
